The Etihad Stadium played host to the seventh round of EStars featuring Fortnite, and the home of Manchester City Football Club did not disappoint. Players from Manchester and beyond turned up in huge numbers to compete for a coveted place in the tournament’s final at Stamford Bridge on 31st March for their chance to win £25,000.
Players prepared to battle it out in what was the second last cymbaltasupports.com qualifying round of the EStars featuring Fortnite tournament. A familiar face, Tom Hamilton, was among the players getting ready to claim the Victory Royale. Tom attended the Belfast qualifying round but was unlucky in his endeavours.
Not willing to miss his opportunity to make it to the EStars Grand Finals, Tom travelled from Belfast for his last chance at victory. Young Hamilton not only claimed the Victory Royale, he proceeded to win the 11am session and place on the leaderboard finally gaining his place in the Grand Finals.
The players at The Etihad Stadium were fiercely competitive, and while many attempted to beat the current top score held by Alex Corrigan, only one prevailed. Mohammad Shami played aggressively and not only won his session but managed to top the Manchester Leaderboard and claim the top spot of the tournament with a 25 elimination win.
