Shaping the Future of Learning: EStars Expands Educational Esports Across Lagos State

EStars and Lagos State Government partnership brings educational esports to 3 million students, enhancing digital literacy, leadership, and future-ready skills in Nigeria.  

On Monday, 16 March 2026, EStars celebrated the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Lagos State Government’s Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education at the Institute of Directors in London.

Beginning in April 2026, this initiative will deliver educational esports programmes to an estimated 3 million students across Lagos State, equipping young people with essential future-ready skills, including digital literacy, numeracy, leadership, creativity, communication and strategic thinking.

This agreement marks a three-year commitment to ensuring meaningful, statewide access and long-term impact.
The MOU was signed by The Minister for Primary and Secondary Education of Lagos State, The Honourable Commissioner Mr. Jamilu Tolani Ali-Balogun and EStars’ Founder & CEO, Mags Byrne.

Everyone was honoured to have the partnership introduced by Florence Eshalomi MP, UK Trade Envoy and to be joined on this special occasion by His Excellency, The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, The Honorable Bashir Are, CEO of Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite, The British High Commissioner Mr Richard Montgomery, The Deputy British High Commissioner, Mr Jonny Baxter, Country Director (Nigeria) Mr Mark Smithson, and members of the Department of Trade. The governmental support from the United Kingdom and Lagos State underscores the significance of this initiative.
