EStars and St. Paul’s   Partnership Empowers Students

EStars and St. Paul’s High School, Bessbrook, Northern Ireland are delighted to announce a partnership bringing the BTEC Level 2 in ESports to students.

Recognising the students’ enthusiasm for esports, EStars and St Paul’s initially collaborated to deliver the EStars Certificate programme. Having successfully completed their certificates, the students have since progressed to the EStars BTEC Level 2 in Esports – equivalent to a GCSE qualification.

Tracy O’Hare, Specialist Provision Teacher at St Paul’s, explained, “Rather than just ‘gaming’, the course content focuses on learning about the world of esports as an industry, combining interactive tasks with key facts, in an achievable and fun way. The students love it. The course teaches them how to work in teams, solve problems, create ideas, undertake independent research and be self-critical. There aren’t many subjects that can achieve all of that and keep students engaged.

”Tracy continued, “I’m just so proud of them, and so grateful to EStars for collaborating with us. The students have learnt so much and are so empowered. I would highly recommend schools considering esports as part of their curriculum.”
